Cleopatra – Love, Passion and War – a unique musical extravaganza, telling the extraordinary tale of history’s most famous love story “Antony and Cleopatra”. The World Premiere and filming is planned to take place in front of the Great Pyramid in Egypt or alternatively at London’s Royal Albert Hall in 2027, with a huge cast of soloists, singers, dancers, Cirque du Soleil style performers, full symphony orchestra, Arabic and other musicians. Stunning CGI imagery on three huge screens, telling this amazing story and featuring the largest sea battle in ancient history – the battle of Actium.
The story/libretto has been written by historian and author Tom Holland whose podcast “The Rest is History” is achieving approx. 28 million downloads a month – and tells the story of Cleopatra in English, using the lyrics of the most beautiful and famous arias and songs from the world of opera. The music has been arranged and written by renowned composers James Morgan and Juliette Pochin.
Peter started his musical career as a professional drummer, working initially with pop/rock bands. However, after some time followed his passion for jazz, he joined the renowned Bird, Curtis Quintet, which won the famed Dunkerque Jazz competition as the overall best group – the prize was to perform in Paris at the Salle Pleyel Concert Hall, on stage with jazz greats, including Ella Fitzgerald. The Quintet performed at festivals throughout Europe and in the UK. Peter continued to play throughout his career as a producer of major concerts, including performances at London’s Pizza on the Park.
It is widely acknowledged that Peter and partner Victoria Charlton did much to break down the cultural walls of the Cold War, bringing the Bolshoi Ballet & Opera, the Kirov (Maryinsky) Ballet and Opera conducted by Valery Gergiev, Moscow Classical Ballet, Georgian State Dance Company and other major classical artists and Orchestras from Russia and the Soviet Union to a world-wide audience, including in the UK, USA and Canada, where they was exclusively producing performances at the Metropolitan Opera House prestigious summer seasons and at the Royal Opera House, in London. Peter also toured the Royal Ballet, English National Opera, Royal National Theatre, directed by Sir Peter Hall to Moscow, St. Petersburg and Kiev as well as Luciano Pavarotti, Sir Elton John, Beyoncé, George Michael and many others.
Peter presented artists and negotiated contracts for clients in many of the most prestigious theatres, concert halls, stadiums & festivals throughout the world in more than 40 countries – featuring a range of artists from Beyoncé, Shakira, Mariah Carey, Kylie Minogue, Phil Collins, Lionel Richie, Elton John, Whitney Houston, Rod Stewart, Billy Joel, Bon Jovi, Sting, Enrique Iglesias, Michael Jackson, Ricky Martin, One Republic, Neil Diamond, REM, The Who, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Tom Waits, Cat Stevens (Yusuf Islam), Willie Nelson, Carlos Santana, Joe Cocker, Mika, Charles Aznavour, Katie Melua, Joss Stone, Pussy Cat Dolls, Timbaland, David Gray, Tony Bennett and Omar Kamal.
Peter contracted Jazz greats in legendary concerts, such as Miles Davis, Ella Fitzgerald, Oscar Peterson, George Benson, Miss Peggy Lee, Arturo Sandoval, Buddy Rich Big Band, Louie Bellson Big Band Explosion, Count Basie Band, Earl Klugh, Stanley Clarke, George Duke, Dizzy Gillespie Big Band, Tito Puente, Miriam Makeba, Billy Eckstine, Albita, Joe Pass, Tommy Dorsey Band, Kenny Ball and his Jazzmen, Acker Bilk, Chris Barber and many others.
Also, presented in the genre of Ballet, Dance and Opera including the Royal Ballet, Luciano Pavarotti, Placido Domingo, José Carreras, Miss Jessye Norman, Dance Theatre of Harlem, Dame Kiri te Kanawa, Juan Diego Florez, Sara Baras Flamenco, The Stars of the Bolshoi Ballet and the School of the Bolshoi Ballet.
